As a Spanish native from Córdoba María arrived in New Zealand in 1993, and has been involved with the Waikato Hispano Latino group since its establishment. Upon her arrival, the group was her initial point of connection within the community. Back then, the members, predominantly from Latin America, passionately showcased and shared their rich cultural heritages alongside our shared language. However, it wasn't until 2010 that María officially joined the board. Maria takes great pride in actively promoting our language and culture since her early days in New Zealand. She firmly believes that the true beauty of the world lies in the diverse tapestry of its people.

Appointed trustee in 2022. Born and raised in Colombia, Alejandro has lived in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2011. He is passionate about creating spaces to express customs and enrich NZ's multicultural society. Alejandro has extensive experience working with government organisations and is honoured to contribute to WHLCT's vision of connecting people around Hispanic culture.

Hailing from Uruguay, Daniela is a graphic designer and a Kirikiriroa resident since 2002. As the Trust treasurer she couldn't be happier to put her time and skills in support of the Trust's activities. Apart from looking after our accounts Daniela deals with all our design-related matters. When she is not at work, you may find her with her dog in one of the river tracks.
